I was diagnosed with it, but it was by a naturopathic doc who wanted to load me up on hundreds of dollars (per month) of supplements I couldn't afford. I haven't spoke to a doc about it in years; I don't mention it to aquaintences 'cause I'm tired of hearing, "You should try Benedryl! It rocks!" GEE - why didn't *I* think of that!!!

Do you ever get people thinking that you're faking it for attention? No one's said it out loud, but sometimes I catch eye-rolls when I have to walk away from someone's perfume.

I'm so busy dealing with this stupid fibromyalgia that I pretty much just suffer with my allergies. Do you have a multi-gas air purifier for your house? I was looking at them today. I have an Oreck ionizer-type for the dust. I've found ways to clean without usuing chemicals (except bleach, which for some reason doesn't bother me), so it's not 'til I go outside that I have to worry.

Kay, here I am and if you're still around I'd love to hear from you. I've lost friends, not that they stopped caring about me, but it was difficult to remain the friendship by way of going places etc. because I'd react to their fragrances and they'd declare I don't have anything on. WELL it would be their hair spray or lotion or sometimes even their deodorant. It's horrible being this allergic and I often feel isolated.......so if you're still here give me a buzz! I'd love to hear from you! Also have you checked out the web site by Debra Lynn Dadd she has many alternatives that can be safely used. This is problem that's growing larger every day, the thing is many suffer from it in varying degrees and are unaware they do.
